Harkozynx 9

This is an installer for a 10-level scenario called 'Harkozynx 9'. (There are also 8 netmaps in the main map file, and a second map file containing another 23 netmaps, though many of these are repeats, or simply Bungie netmaps.) The project was created by Eric 'Siva' Salzman, the man behind 'Operation Wormwood', the very first scenario designed around cooperative play. This map is a continuation, of sorts, of that project.

It's not completely finished, the way Siva would like it to be finished... but it's quite playable. He decided that rather than leave it on his hard drive (where it's been sitting for almost 4 years, untouched), it might be better to get it out to the Marathon-playing public - that's you! Give it a whirl... you should have fun.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - IMPORTANT!

Installing should be relatively simple. Make sure you have clean copies of Marathon Infinity App, Shapes, Sounds, and Images files in a single folder somewhere on your hard drive. (Clean means unmodified. If you've messed with them, you might want to grab fresh copies off your CD before you start this installation.) Run the installer - you'll be asked to locate a clean Sounds file. (The installer assumes that the Shapes and App files are in the same folder as that Sounds file... so make sure they are. ;) It also needs an Images file there, though this one can be modified - no need for a fresh copy. )

The installer won't do anything to those files - it won't modify them or delete them, it's simply using them to build the Harkozynx files. It will install a folder called "Harkozynx 9" inside the folder it finds those files in (unless you choose a different location). In that folder, it will put all the files you need to play this scenario. During the install, it will launch a patcher that will ask you to locate the Shapes file to patch - the proper one should already be highlighted. Press 'Open', then confirm that you're sure you want to install. (If, by some fluke, it highlights a Shapes file that's NOT named 'Harkozynx Shapes', or isn't in the proper folder, the installer will quit after this step, saying it couldn't find the shapes file. Delete the new folder, and try again - and make SURE that you're patching the right one. :) ) A little more time will pass, and then it will ask you to pick a Sounds file. Again, the proper file should already be selected - just press the 'Open' button. You'll be asked if you want to install the sounds into the file itself, or a copy - choose 'In the file itself'. The installer will do a bit more... and then you're ready to play!
